My 36th Anniversary Save the Bay Swim
Year 36--wow. Throughout, it's been a joy to swim for a great environmental cause and a self preservation cause. Swimming has always been a refuge for me and I'm happy with the knowledge that this is something I can continue to do for a very long time. My mind and body certainly need it and our beautiful Narragansett Bay needs continual support to maintain what Save the Bay has worked so hard to preserve.
My commitment to the mission of Save the Bay has only grown since I started swimming. Over the years, we've witnessed the increased health of our waters--the bay, the rivers and the sea. I'm so grateful for the ability to swim year round in such a thriving environment knowing that there are so many people I personally know who are committed to maintaining the health and beauty of the bay and beyond. Every time I leave the area then return to see what surrounds us, I realize that this is something to be treasured and nurtured. Thank you all for your years of support and I hope you continue to donate to this most worthy cause. Thanks to everyone who has supported me over all these years. The photo below is circa 2006 and shows me with my nephew, David, and my friend, Kelly Kittel, and her daughter, Hannah.
