My love for the water started along Rhode Island’s coast - splashing in the shorelines of Third Beach and Gooseberry. Growing up, I admired the swimmers who tackled the feat of swimming from Aquidneck Island to Jamestown. Not only for their athletic pursuit, but for their important advocacy work preserving and protecting those waters that are so important to Rhode Island.
This swim is one of Save The Bay’s biggest fundraisers. Each year hundreds of swimmers, kayakers and volunteers gather in celebration of the recreational benefits of Narragansett Bay. While also raising critical funds for Save The Bay. Their work over the last 45 plus years has brought the bay from being choked by raw sewage and industrial toxins, to a healthy watershed enjoyed by many in the community.
I’m so excited to be back joining the swim for my third year, and would be honored if you joined me in donating to Save The Bay.
