Support Mark’s Swim 2025
I am excited to share, on Saturday July 19th, for my second season,
I’ll be joining hundreds of swimmers in completing a 2-mile continuous swim from Newport to Jamestown, Rhode Island. The event helps fund and operate the Save the Bay organization.
At a young age of around 10, I became quite obsessed with the Cole River in Swansea, Ma., one of many tributaries connected to and feeding the Narraganset Bay. There I spent countless days in the sun, taking advantage of the many resources the river had to offer. Fishing, harvesting fresh clams, oysters, and soft-shell blue crabs. Sailing on the gentile summer breeze, and sometimes just sitting quiet by the shore, gazing at the vast expanse of sparkling water, with a deep appreciation of the peace that it provided. I am happy to report, that I am still able to enjoy this great resource with the same enthusiasm as in my youth.
This incredible resource has weathered times of trials over the years, but is still alive and abundantly thriving, cleaner and more sparkling than ever as a result of efforts of advocacy through organizations like Save The Bay.
Save The Bay is a non-profit organization that is well established and plays a key role in preserving these resources. They are second to none in raising awareness and advocating for the betterment and preservation of Narragansett Bay.
If you are able to offer a financial contribution. please follow the “donate now” link provided above and your donation will be credited to my fund-raising efforts.
Thank you for your partnership in supporting this longstanding organization.
Sincerely,
Mark
