Team NICK NADALIN
Team Nick Nadalin is inspired by the full and far too brief life of a young man who showed us all to not let fear or obstacles get in the way of experiencing a new challenge.
There were two important passions in the life of Nick: skiing and sailing. He grew up on the water, - Narragansett Bay, and in his own front yard, Bristol Harbor.
Christy Nadalin, Nick's mother:
"I can’t say when he was first on a boat but before he could walk! Not long after Nick was born Dean would take him on nightly “dock-walks” that they kept up for years. He went fishing with my dad for the first time, prob age 3…..they would go after whatever was biting, blues, stripers, tautog. If my dad wasn’t available I’d put a life jacket on him and send him down to the State St. dock. As soon as he could read he was researching different baits, techniques, etc. Once when he behaved in kindergarten I asked him what he wanted for a treat and he wanted to go to Nick’s Fish Market and get “a fish with a head on it.” It always annoyed him that I only bought filets. He started with East Bay Sailing Foundation when he was 7 I think, Mercurys, Optis, then 420s. Then he started coaching at 15 or 16 and continued until be was 18 or 19."
Team Nick Nadalin is inspired by Nick's legacy of life on the water. Your valuable donations will help continue the important work of Save the Bay.
Meanwhile Nick's beautiful smile will be guiding us every yard of our 2 mile adventure.
