#withkeith
Hello friends, family and ocean lovers:
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Save the Bay Swim.
I swim again this year with members of Team #withkeith, which honors Keith Ryan. Our dear friend and fellow swimmer Keith swam his final STB in 2019. He received his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in July 2020 and died on Saturday, June 3, 2023.
The Swim is one of the most storied open-water events in the country, attracting swimmers of all ages to cross Narragansett Bay’s East Passage. We have swimmers joining Team #withkeith from as far away as Alaska, Texas and Oregon.
As Save The Bay’s largest annual fundraiser, it provides critical support to the organization’s educational programs, advocacy and habitat restoration efforts. Stories from the early days have long-time swimmers recalling seeing entire refrigerators, rusted junk, garbage and debris as they swam; others recall leaving the water covered in oil and tar balls. Not anymore! Today, the Swim serves as a celebration of the recreational benefits of protecting local waters.
It's a fun and worthy cause and whatever you give will help. I greatly appreciate your support. And it's tax-deductible.
Life moves swiftly, my friends. Make time to enjoy all your blessings: family, friends, the beauty of nature, our gorgeous shores and waters.
Thank you. Cheers,
Cheryl
