After using the bay for recreation and dreaming of swimming across the east bay, I plan to make my first attempt in 2026 and could use your help.  I spend my carreer supporting artist and helping RI think about Public Art, and always dreamed of finding ways to connect more with the bay by boating, swimming and understanding how it works. 

    After more then 15 years of hearing about friends doing the Bay swim and telling myself I would train and sign up but never taking the first step this year I'm working to challenge myself which started by signing up for my first sprint tri in Newport and during one of my training sessions I did a qualifying swim for the bay swim not knowing if I could even complete the distance. 

   I'm feeling good about my mind and body at this point and excited to do the swim this year especially as it's the 50th, I'm asking people to join me for the swim by making a small donation to support future generations and education of the bay.
