Donate Now to Save the Bay and the Coosa

A chance to do something good for our RI bay, the Coosa River and a charity of YOUR choice. Due to Covid19, this year's swim is reminiscent of the 2015 alternate swim when 30 knot winds caused a cancellation. All swimmers swam in an alternate location. My swim this year will be on the Coosa River in Alabama on a certified 2 mile (1.7 nautical) course.
To participate in my annual donation just click the donate button.
Then send me an email (CdrJimparham@hotmail.com) and predict my time. If you come closest to predicting my time, I double your donation to a charity of your choice and award YOU the fund-raising prize which has been a kayak. The kayak is done by gift certificate so if you are out of RI, there will be an equivalent prize for you. The fundraising prize is usually quite good.
For Alabama Residents: Maraella Winery will be matching your donations to the Coosa River Keeper up to $500 and I will be donating one Free bottle of their award-winning-wines. Just stop by and pick it up. Maraella has been working hard during this pandemic to provide an expanded and safe environment. See https://www.maraella.com/
*If you have any questions or want to bet/donate by mail, email or call 256-4581232. Leave a vm at best time to call back. Would love to hear from you! NO--I will not provide "insider information"; as always, I will be swimming to the fastest time submitted.
Refresher on the drill:
HOW DO YOU PREDICT? I have done the 2-mile swim 14 times, in minutes:
Average:
79.6;
Slowest2015
94.2
Fastest 2016
71.2
Times for each year are shown below with past prediction winners and the charity each supported.
If you want to get more technical in the prediction see attached spread sheet. My times in minutes, a graph of all 14 swims with trend line,standard deviation, median, mode/rank,regression and FAQ . If you predict the same as somebody else, highest donor wins. In event donations are the same, whoever has donated and predicted first will be awarded the prize. Good Luck! May the best Predictor win!
