Save YOUR Bay: 13 swims - Done!
This past Saturday 7/27/19 was an epic day for The Bay. Swim conditions were perfect, w/ the timing of slack tide we got to sleep in, 9am vs 7am on a Saturday is great! As we (im)patiently waited on the lawn below the Naval War College the natives grew restless in their latex and spandex, only the Pledge off Allegiance got the crowd’s full attention. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse had some fist pumping words and then the Pre-Start Chaos started, swimmers headed into the water, through the sea grass and stumbling over periwinkle covered rocks waiting for the starting BOOM of the Revolutionairy War Cannon start (real cannons by the way). Then it was ON w/ the explosive start!
The first few strokes are the hardest, avoiding the olympians and their chase posse, then it gets good, Rhythm & Reflection, ‘Jack Handy - Deep Thoughts’ kind of zen..... and this year it was an incredible 43 minute trip, thank you!
I can’t thank you enough for the support, your contribution$ are going to great use for today and future generations. Please come to RI and hang out with us any time, happy to be a tour guide.
