Save The Bay Swim--29 years!!
I've just returned from a swim at Third Beach with my long time swimming partner Liz Minifie. Although I've been doing my monthly swims at Surfer's End throughout the winter months, I've just started training for my 29th consecutive Save The Bay swim. Water temps are about 61 degrees--quite balmy compared to winter temps.
I swim for a variety of reasons--it enlivens, restores, and revitalizes me. I can't imagine not swimming. I depend on it for my mental and physical health. And the water needs on us to maintain its health. We have a responsibility to restore it the way it restores us.
Save the Bay is one of the first organizations I joined after moving here 29 years ago. Throughout the years, they have been committed to the restoration and preservation of our waters. Given the current political climate and the threats facing our natural world, I hope that you will join me in supporting a local organization that works very hard to maintain the beauty and health of Narragansett Bay. It's needed now more than ever.
I am asking you to help by supporting my fundraising efforts with a donation. Your tax-deductible gift means a lot to my fundraising efforts for an organization that is important to me!
It is faster and easier than ever to support this great cause - you can make your donation online by simply clicking on the link at the bottom of this message. If you prefer, you can also send your gift check made out to Save The Bay to me at the address listed below.
