MY 35th Anniversary Save the Bay Swim
It's hard to believe this will be my 35th annual Save the Bay swim. This past fall, I jumped back into the YMCA pool after a 2 1/2 year hiatus brought on by Covid. I've been swimming 1 mile 2x/week at 6am and it feels great to be back. I still prefer the open water over pool swimming but the good news is that I'll be in better shape than ever when I start my training for the swim. The YMCA has undergone a major innovation and is a beautiful facility now.
My commitment to the mission of Save the Bay has only grown since I started swimming. Over the years, we've witnessed the increased health of our waters--the bay, the rivers and the sea. I'm so grateful for the ability to swim year round in such a thriving environment knowing that there are so many people I personally know who are committed to maintaining the health and beauty of the bay and beyond. Every time I leave the area then return to see what surrounds us, I realize that this is something to be treasured and nurtured. Thank you all for your years of support and I hope you continue to donate to this most worthy cause. The photo below shows me with Liz Minifie, my swimming partner for over 30 years
