Welcome to My Personal Page
Starting during Covid, I began swimming regularly and presently swim about six miles a week. It is in the Lincoln YMCA pool and not outside!
I recently accepted the challenge to swim 2.0 miles across the Narragansett Bay to raise funds and awareness in support of Save The Bay's mission to protect and improve Narragansett Bay on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
The Swim is Save The Bay’s largest, and most iconic, annual fundraiser. For 46 years, athletes and advocates have been inspired to tackle a two-mile, open-water swim across Narragansett Bay, raising both funds and awareness for Save The Bay’s mission to protect and improve Narragansett Bay. As a fundraiser, the Swim directly supports Save The Bay’s educational programs, our advocacy efforts, and our habitat restoration efforts. As a community event, the Swim engages hundreds of swimmers, kayakers and volunteers in a celebration of the recreational benefits of Narragansett Bay.
On our recent Starkweather & Shepley trip to Longboat Key, I started my open water training and an associate pointed out there were four dolphins swimming within 10 feet of me back and forth along the beach! So I swam with the dolphins but did not even know it!
My summers were spent on the Kickemuit River which is off the Bay. My family has always been active in Save the Bay and this is my tribute to my family to protect the Bay for future generations.
Since this will be my first Save the Bay swim, I will have a kayaker escort and special thanks to Tim Rzewuski for volunteering to assist!
